Monologue is a private voice journal for iPhone and Apple Watch, for the thoughts that never get written down.
- What it is
- A voice journal. You tap once and talk; each entry is saved, transcribed and kept.
- Platforms
- iPhone and Apple Watch, on iOS 26 and watchOS 26 or later. There is no Android, iPad, Mac or web app.
- Recording
- One tap from the app, the Lock Screen widget or the watch. Pause and resume, no time limit, and nothing lost to a crash, a call or a dead battery.
- Transcription
- Automatic for every entry once you sign in with Apple.
- Where entries live
- On your iPhone and in Monologue's private area of your own iCloud. Transcripts, titles and places are end-to-end encrypted there.
- Our servers
- Receive audio only to transcribe it, then delete the audio and the transcript once your iPhone has the text.
- Organization
- Tags you define, applied automatically. Optional neighbourhood and city for each entry.
- Covers
- A one-of-a-kind photograph composed for every entry, coloured by the time of day you recorded.
- AI assistants
- Optional, read-only connection to Claude or ChatGPT to ask about your past entries.
- Ads and tracking
- None.
